ON SHOW: Lemon Tree Passage artist Jenny Crozier will display her art at Raymond Terrace Library in October.WITH nearly 40 years experience as a painter and art teacher, Port artist Jenny Crozier was hard pressed to pick a few favourites to exhibit at Raymond Terrace Library.
However, Mrs Crozier’s favourite paintings of her view of the world will show in the library art space between September 28 and October 26.
The exhibition features a range of techniques and subjects, including Mrs Crozier’s works inspired by the bushland setting of her Lemon Tree Passage studio.
“The bush here is hidden but it’s absolutely magnificent, especially at this time of year,” she said.
“I like to paint on location although I don’t get to do it very often but I do take my camera everywhere.”
Mrs Crozier says art is a skill anyone can learn to help them appreciate the beauty in the things around them.
“Some people have a natural ability but other people can learn – it’s about teaching your brain to look at things differently,” she said.
“You can learn to see things in a new way, such as being more aware of the colours in things. It’s a new way of looking at the world.
“I would like to think people who come to the exhibition will take away a sense that the world is gorgeous,” Mrs Crozier said.
